Black Carpet Rideshare & Logistics – Terms & Conditions




Effective Date: Feb 19th 2025

By using Black Carpet Rideshare & Logistics the Service provider, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions, whether you are a customer/rider or a independent driver/Partner.

This Rideshare service was created to connect the Customer/rider to the Driver/independent contractor/ Partner, with the use of  technology and social media platforms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 21 years old to book or be provided with transport services.

You must sign up before you can access the services we provide 

All users must submit accurate personal information and may be asked to verify their identity.

All children/minors must be accompanied by an legal guardian or parent for safety and compliance in accordance with rideshare policies and practices of Trinidad and Tobago.

2. Booking & Service Use

Bookings can be made via our booking tool and WhatsApp.

We reserve the right to accept, cancel, or modify any ride or delivery request.

Customers are responsible for ensuring they are ready at the agreed pickup location and time specified on record. Please note that a change in Pick up, Drop- off location and extra stops upon driver's arrival or while on in transit will result in immediate cancellation of the ride and customers will be charged a cancellation fee of $35. if this fee is not paid customers would not be allowed to book for future rides.

However if the driver wishes of proceed with the ride being aware of the inconvenience to him or her (driver). The following extra stop/wait time fees will be applied to said customer.

3. Payments

We accept both cash and cashless payment options including Cash ,Linx, Credit Card or Paywise to Paywise (for verified users) . For more information on how to pay please see our how to pay page.

Full card payment must be made before each ride as per credit card/debit card or CC transactions

LINX, Credit Card, and Transaction Fees (PayWise)

For the convenience of our users, we offer the option to settle payments remotely via Credit Card or VISA-enabled LINX Debit cards through the PayWise platform. Please be advised that all card-based transactions are subject to a processing fee of 3.5% plus a fixed cost of $3.00 TTD per transaction. This fee is applied to cover the third-party merchant costs associated with secure digital processing.


When a card payment is requested, this fee will be calculated and added to the total fare, delivery total, or grand invoice total. A unique payment link will then be issued to the customer or driver, which must be paid in full to confirm the transaction. To avoid these processing fees, users are encouraged to utilize PayWise Wallet-to-Wallet transfers or Cash Payments at any authorized PayWise agent, both of which remain alternative payment options.


Please also note that any extra stops are rated $10TTD on route and $20TTD Off route. 

🟢 On-Route Stops (+$10 TTD)

An On-Route stop is any brief pause along the main path to the destination that requires minimal deviation.

The "3-Block" Rule: Any stop that is within 500 meters (about 2–3 blocks) of the direct GPS route.

Duration: Lasts less than 5 minutes (e.g., "Quickly running into a pharmacy" or "Dropping off a package").

Examples:

* Stopping at an ATM that you are already driving past.

* Dropping a friend off at a corner that is already on the way to your final drop-off.

* Picking up a pre-ordered meal at a curbside.


 🔴 Off-Route Stops (+$20 TTD)

An Off-Route stop is a detour that takes the driver away from the main path or involves a significant wait.

The "Detour" Rule: Any stop that requires the driver to turn off the main road and travel into a different street or neighborhood (more than 500 meters away).

Duration: Any stop expected to last between 5 and 15 minutes.

Examples:

* Going "inside" a residential area to pick up a second passenger before heading to the final destination.

* Stopping at a supermarket where the customer needs to walk in and browse.

* Changing the route to pass by a specific landmark or house that isn't on the direct GPS line.

Wait time rate is at $2 per minute as per metered ride.

Please note that we do not charge for the: 

-Number of passengers

-Number of luggage 

but please bare in mind the traffic laws of Trinidad and Tobago which prohibits the overloading a vehicle with too many passengers or over sized items.

4. Identity Verification

Customers will be required to upload a profile photo, national ID, and proof of address, email address, phone number via our provided links for safety and verification purposes.

Black Carpet Rideshare & Logistics reserves the right to suspend or reject customer or driver accounts with incomplete or suspicious information.

5. Driver Conduct

Drivers are independent contractors/partners and are expected to maintain professionalism, punctuality, and safety at all times.

Any driver found violating our safety guidelines or engaging in fraudulent activity will be permanently removed from the platform.

6. Customer Conduct

Customers must not use the service for unlawful or fraudulent purposes, including setting up rides with the intent to harm or rob drivers.

Any misuse of the service will result in a permanent ban and be reported to authorities.

7. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations made by both the driver or customer must be made at least 15 minutes before the scheduled pickup time for scheduled rides and within 5 minutes of New request Acceptance.

If a customer fails to cancel in the given specified time and driver arrives at location the $35 cancellation fee will apply.

Refunds are issued at our discretion based on the nature of the cancellation.

8. Delivery & Errand Services

Our delivery and transportation services are subject to availability and pricing based on item size, destination, and urgency.

We are not responsible for damages or losses if incorrect delivery instructions are provided.

9. Limitation of Liability

Black Carpet Rideshare & Logistics is not liable for personal injury, loss, or damages resulting from the actions of independent driver partners or third parties. 

We will, however, cooperate with law enforcement in cases of fraud or criminal activity.

BLACK CARPET RIDESHARE & LOGISTICS

TERMS OF SERVICE AGREEMENT

These Terms of Service (“Agreement”) govern the use of the services provided by Black Carpet RideShare & Logistics (“Black Carpet”, “The Business”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By creating an account, accessing, or using our services, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms.

This Agreement applies to both:

Customers requesting transportation or logistics services

Courier Drivers providing transportation or delivery services through the platform

Black Carpet RideShare & Logistics operates within the laws of Trinidad and Tobago.

1. DEFINITIONS

Platform – The Black Carpet RideShare & Logistics website, mobile application, and dispatch system.

Customer – Any individual or business requesting rideshare or logistics services.

Courier Driver – An independent contractor registered with Black Carpet who performs transportation or delivery services.

PayWise Account – A verified digital payment account used to process payments for services through PayWise Limited.

2. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION

To use the Black Carpet platform:

1. All users must register a to have a profile.

2. Users must provide accurate personal information including:

Full legal name

Valid phone number

Valid email address

Government identification if requested

3. Users must maintain the security of their profile credentials.

Black Carpet reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information.

3. PAYMENT SYSTEM REQUIREMENT

All transactions on the platform are processed through PayWise Limited.

Requirements

Users must:

Maintain a valid PayWise account

Ensure sufficient balance for transactions

Authorize PayWise to process payments

Black Carpet does not handle cash payments directly through the platform unless otherwise specified.

Failure to maintain a valid PayWise account may result in:

Suspension of services

Cancellation of bookings

Account termination

4. TERMS FOR CUSTOMERS

4.1 Service Requests

Customers may request:

-Passenger transportation

-Package delivery

-Courier logistics

All requests are subject to driver availability.

Black Carpet does not guarantee immediate service.

4.2 Payment Authorization

By requesting a service, the customer authorizes:

Automatic payment through their PayWise account

Payment of applicable service fee

Cancellation charges if applicable

4.3 Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

Provide accurate pickup and delivery information

Treat drivers with respect

Ensure packages comply with legal transport requirements

Customers may not request delivery of illegal items, including but not limited to:

-Controlled drugs

-Firearms or weapons

-Hazardous materials

-Stolen goods

Violation may result in immediate account termination.

4.4 Package Liability

Customers are responsible for:

-Proper packaging

-Accurate delivery information

Black Carpet may limit liability for damaged or lost packages depending on circumstances.

4.5 Cancellation Policy

-Customers may cancel requests; however:

Late cancellations may incur a cancellation fee

-Fees will be deducted via PayWise

5. TERMS FOR COURIER DRIVERS

5.1 Independent Contractor Status

Courier drivers using the Black Carpet platform are independent contractors, not employees.

Drivers are responsible for:

-Their own taxes

-Vehicle expenses

-Insurance

-Licensing

5.2 Driver Eligibility Requirements

Drivers must:

-Be at least 21 years old

-Possess a valid Trinidad and Tobago driver's permit

-Have a roadworthy vehicle

-Maintain vehicle registration and insurance

-Pass identity verification

Black Carpet reserves the right to conduct background or compliance checks where necessary.

5.3 Driver Conduct

-Drivers must:

-Provide professional service

-Follow all traffic laws

-Maintain vehicle safety and cleanliness

-Treat customers respectfully

-Misconduct including harassment, dangerous driving, or fraud may result in immediate deactivation.

5.4 Driver Payments

Drivers will receive earnings through the PayWise payment system.

Black Carpet may deduct:

-Platform service fees

-Processing fees

-Penalties for violations if applicable

-Payment schedules may vary based on platform policy.

5.5 Prohibited Driver Actions

Drivers may not:

-Accept off-platform payments

-Transport illegal goods

-Share profile with other individuals

-Manipulate ride requests or delivery assignments

Violations may result in account suspension or permanent removal.

6. SERVICE AVAILABILITY

Black Carpet operates within Trinidad and Tobago and may expand services at its discretion.

Service availability may depend on:

Location

Driver availability

Weather or safety conditions

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Black Carpet RideShare & Logistics provides a technology service connecting customers and drivers.

The company shall not be liable for:

-Driver negligence

-Delays caused by traffic or weather

-Customer misuse of services

-Damages arising from third-party actions

To the maximum extent permitted under the laws of Trinidad and Tobago, liability is limited to the amount paid for the service.

8. ACCOUNT SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION

Black Carpet may suspend or terminate accounts for:

Fraud or abuse of the platform

Violation of these Terms

Illegal activity

Safety risks

Users may also close their Profile at any time.

9. PRIVACY

User information is handled according to Black Carpet’s Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

Information collected may include:

Identity details

Payment information

Location data for service fulfillment

10. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Any disputes arising from the use of the platform shall first be addressed through internal resolution with Black Carpet RideShare & Logistics.

If unresolved, disputes shall be governed under the laws of Trinidad and Tobago.

11. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS

Black Carpet may update these Terms at any time.

Users will be notified through:

Email

Platform notifications

Website updates

Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
